Over time, your eyes may form cataracts, which are combined proteins that can cause cloudy vision. • You experience blurry or clouded vision.
  • Your eyes have a brown or yellow tinge to them.
  • You struggle to see at night.
  • Your eyes are increasingly sensitive to light.

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please reach out to our optometrist office today to schedule an appointment. Laser Cataract Surgery

Standard & Laser Cataract Surgery

At Buffalo Eye Center, we want you to know that we are here to help you get your vision back. We offer both standard and laser cataract surgery (LenSx Laser System) to help relieve your eyes of this condition and restore your vision.

During the procedure, our experienced eye doctor will remove the clouded lens inside your eye and replace it with a clear and artificial lens, often known as an intraocular lens implant, or IOL. A protective shield will then be placed over your eye to keep it safe during recovery.

Preparing for Cataract Removal Surgery

Before your cataract surgery date, you may be asked to do certain thing from your doctor. You may be asked to stop taking certain medications before your surgery, but this should only be done under supervision of your doctor. Aside from your normal medication, your doctor may prescribe medicated eye drops to reduce the risk of infection after your surgery is complete. Lastly, make sure you are prepared for recovery. Depending on the success of your cataract removal surgery, you may need assistance afterwards, including a ride home. Having everything taken care of beforehand will only make things easier after surgery. Please call us if you have any questions about our laser cataract surgery!

Cataract Surgery Recovery

Recovery time varies by patient as some patient’s eyes adjust faster or slower than others. Some have restored vision the day after surgery, while others need a week or a full month to experience the maximum results, depending on the severity of their case. During recovery, some patients report seeing distortions in their visions that should disappear after an hour. If these symptoms persist, call us for an appointment. If you are having a medical emergency, please dial 911.
